Music Theatre Wales production VIOLET nominated for International Opera Awards
Music Theatre Wales and Britten Pears Arts production of Violet has received a second award nomination in the space of a week. Violet has been nominated in the World Premiere category for the 2022 International Opera Awards.

Violet from Music Theatre Wales receives nomination for a UK Theatre Award
Composed by Tom Coult with the libretto by Alice Birch, the production was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but when it finally reached the stage it received rave reviews across the UK press.

MTW’s most recent commissions are going international
Two new productions of Violet have been announced within one year of the work being premiered – in Ulm, Germany and in Paris.

Our first Future Directions project has concluded with the completion of the second residency in Cardiff. The young people involved have created an insightful, imaginative piece called ‘The Things That Go Unnoticed’ which we look forward to sharing with you.
