Tenor Elgan Llyr Thomas hails from Llandudno, North Wales. He performs a wide variety of repertoire within the operatic canon as well as enjoying a busy career on the concert platform. He is a former English National Opera Harewood Artist and Scottish Opera Emerging Artist. Recent roles include Rinuccio in “Il Trittico” at Scottish Opera, Dr Richardson in “Breaking the Waves” at Opéra Comique, and the Duke of Mantua in “Rigoletto” for Opera Holland Park. Upcoming engagements include Almaviva in “Il barbiere di Siviglia” for Opera Holland Park and Don José in “La Tragédie de Carmen” at Buxton International Festival. Elgan also made his debut with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and will perform with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood. He is dedicated to music education and outreach programs, inspiring young musicians. His recent album “Unveiled” is a compilation of music by queer composers and/or poets.
