Laurence Collier

Laurence is a Cardiff based trumpet player, teacher, composer and band leader. Originally from Llanelli, he spent 4 years studying a masters in composition at Cardiff University and fell in love with the city. Since then he has been a member of the music scene in Cardiff playing with local bands such as Afro Cluster, Dirty Alex and Slipped Disco plus he manages and leads The Siglo Section Big Band. The Siglo Section is a dynamic outfit which offers performances of music ranging from trad jazz to modern Hip-hop. Laurence is an active member of the community, volunteers on the Board of ‘Minty’s Gig Guide’ and runs Music Development workshops in the Vale of Glamorgan.
